Graceland College - Iowa Communications Network (ICN)

Iowa Communications Network (ICN)

Graceland College is operational on the Iowa Communications Network (ICN). The ICN is a statewide fiber-optic network connecting the state's fifteen community colleges, three regents universities, independent colleges and universities, National Guard training sites, hospitals, government agencies and at least one endpoint in each county. The ICN provides distance learning capabilities offering full-color, full-motion, broadcast quality 2-way video and audio from origination sites to any number of remote sites in the state. Graceland has installed classroom equipment to serve either as an origination site or a remote site.

The ICN also provides long-distance telephone and telecommunications carrier services. Graceland is a full participant in these services and uses the ICN as a carrier to support the college's 1+ long distance and operator services, inbound WATS, T1 voice/data links between the Lamoni, Iowa, and Independence, Missouri, campuses and a T1 Internet connection.
